Holton Super Collegiate Trombone Ready to play case mouthpiece band concert for sale in Kathleen, GA
Holton Super Collegiate Trombone Ready to play With case mouthpiece band concertThe Holton Super Collegiate Trombone is designed as a step-up horn for the intermediate player althought it would work well for the beginner as well. This example plays great but has some cosmetic issues. The slide and bell were not originally from the same horn. They have been paried but perform very well together. Playing - This horn plays really well. The Copper bell is said to keep notes from cracking by assisting with solid note attacks. That seems to be true with this horn. The nickel in the bell keeps a slight sizzle in the tone. Really good player. Main slide is good. Tuning slide moves ok. Serial Number - Bell SN 283438 - From 1956. Slide has no SN. Finish - Laquer is mostly intact but there are a number of small to medium dents and the bell is just sligtly out of alignment. None of this affects playablity and the horn looks good from a distance. Serviced - Horn has been completely serviced including chemical cleaning, hand-washing, and slide polishing. Springs and corks have been replaced as needed. Play tested to ensure playability. Case - A solid newer Holton case in very good condition. It has been cleaned and is ready for use. Mouthpiece - Includes a Holton 48 mouthpiece in excellent condition. This is roughly equivelent to a Bach 6 1/2 AL .Condition - There is some plating wear on one slide stocking caused by prior misalignment see photo. The slide is aligned now and the wear does not make a significant diffrence to slide performance. Note: I ship main slides with no lubrication so you will need to apply your own choice of oil or cream upon arrival. - We know it's hard to buy instruments on-line so returns are accepted and purchase price will be refunded. - If there is something not right, we will do anything we can to make it right. We want to encourage others on their musical journey. - I strive to ship quickly. - I've been playing brass instruments for 40+ years and love helping others in their musical journey.
